Simi Hamilton

Guide

Born and raised in Aspen, Simi has probably spent more hours exploring the mountains out his back door than he has sleeping. He first slid on skis when he was two years old, and his earliest childhood memories are when his parents would tether him to a bungee cord at the top of Aspen Mountain and let him tuck down the front side as fast as he could. A three time Olympian in cross-country skiing and someone who is constantly dreaming of the next perfect day in the backcountry, Simi is a skier at heart. But ultimately what drives him is moving through the mountains fluidly, safely, and in good company, no matter what the season or mode of travel.

Having guided in the Tetons for three summer seasons and grown up climbing on Independence Pass he is an avid rock and alpine climber, and he’ll never turn down the opportunity to go for a long trail run or check off a 20 hour peak traverse. Following his 12 year professional ski racing career, Simi has committed the next several years of his life to attaining his IFMGA certification, ultimately allowing him to guide internationally in all three major mountain guiding disciplines. But really the most important thing in his life is ensuring he is doing everything he can now to hone the skills to keep up with his daughter for as long as he can.
