Nathan Rowland

Guide

Nathan grew up in Washington State where the volcanoes of the Cascade Range were his playground and mentor. Settling in Colorado in 2000, Nathan has adopted the Elk Mountains around Aspen as his home and office. With close to 200 days on snow each year and many successful summits in the summer months, Nathan knows every corner of the region by heart.

He has led expeditions spanning the globe in such locations as the Tien Shan of Kyrgyzstan, Patagonia, the Andes, the Aleutian Islands, the Tordrillos, the Chugach, and the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

Nathan is proud to serve as a technical rescuer, rescue leader, and on the board of directors for Mountain Rescue Aspen (MRA). He maintains medical proficiency as an EMT.

Nathan has also worked as a consultant in the outdoor industry, helping to develop and refine gear for functionality, performance, and safety. Away from guiding, Nathan chases his three young boys and wife around the mountains on bikes, skis, and foot.
