Guide

Mike is an avid mountain athlete, originally honing his skills in the Adirondacks of New York and the green mountains of Vermont. After completing the Adirondack 46er, Mike decided to graduate to bigger objectives and moved to Seattle in 2011. In 2016, he moved to Colorado and now calls Aspen home.

In addition to guiding, Mike has worked for Aspen Expeditions’ gear partner, Cripple Creek Backcountry, since 2020 and teaches skiing at Aspen Snowmass. He’s a locally renowned backcountry ski bootfitter and tech, and is a self described gear nerd.

Mike has skied and rock climbed throughout North and South America, and has notable ski descents of Denali via West Buttress (AK), Rainier via Fuhrer Finger (WA), and Pyramid via Landry Line (CO). In addition to ski mountaineering and rock climbing, Mike races the Grand Traverse and Power of 4 SkiMo races each year with top 15 finishes in each race in 2022, and is active in Aspen’s uphill ski community.
