Hike a local San Juan 14er with our expert guide team!

Handies Peak is one of Colorado’s famous 14ers that is set in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. This is a perfect peak for a beginner to intermediate hiker with roundtrip stats at 9.2 miles and 3,900′ elevation gain.

Enjoy one of Colorado’s highest points with a beautiful hike off the beaten path. Starting from Grouse Gulch trailhead, you will climb through an alpine basin with lake views, then over a short pass, and onto the Handies Peak trail. After the junction and 1.6 miles, it brings you to the 14,055′ summit. As we descend, we leave the main trail again and enjoy some more spectacular views and an exceptional adventure in the mountains.
