Clothing 

  • Socks: thin socks work best, wool or synthetic 
  • Synthetic underwear or briefs: cotton does not dry or insulate when wet 
  • Running shorts or leggings
  • Synthetic wicking t-shirt 
  • Warm hat
  • Sun hat 
  • Mid-weight/breathable insulating layer: fleece or synthetic 
  • Hard shell rain jacket 
  • Lightweight liner gloves mid weight to thin for colder nights and early mornings 
  • Buff or neck/face covering for warmth and sun protection 
  • Running shoes (1-2 pairs)
  • Casual shoes/sandals
  • Casual clothes for in the hut: temperatures can range from mid 40’s to mid 80’s

Misc Personal Items 

  • Hydration/running pack
  • Headlamp (bring an extra set of extra batteries) 
  • Sunglasses 
  • Sunscreen and lip balm 
  • Personal first-aid / repair kit 
  • Camera or Smartphone 
  • Water bottle (at least 2 liters)
  • Snack food 
  • Reading materials
  • Sleeping bag and pillowcase – sleeping bags can be rented for a small fee
