Stay at the newly built Element by Westin Hotel for two nights, three days and take advantage of all of the amenities, including discounted massages and treatments at Fahrenheit Spa, daily breakfast, and a welcome gift!
You will arrive Friday, December 9th, where you will be greeted with a Welcome Reception including beer, wine and some light appetizers. On Saturday, December 10th, you will head to Aspen Highlands where you will begin your Intro to Backcountry Course. Gain knowledge and understanding of basic winter backcountry travel and safety skills. We will begin by discussing what constitutes as ‘proper’ gear in the backcountry, including: clothing, equipment, packs, etc. Learn how to plan for trips and how to recognize and safely travel through avalanche terrain. This class will
provide you with the basics to take your ‘uphilling’ off-piste. This will be a full day, beginning in the classroom and transitioning outdoors. After Saturday's session wraps up, feel free to go out in Aspen for apres or dinner, or head back downvalley to your hotel. Sunday, December 11th we will head out for an optional day of on-mountain skiing, backcountry skiing or a relaxing morning spent exploring Basalt or indulging in the spa.
