OverviewYou've seen the photos in all the ski magazines and you're ready to ski that same fantastic backcountry terrain! Come experience a backcountry ski or ride descent on a unique lift-accessed 'out-of-bounds' experience beyond the slopes of Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk or Snowmass Mountain.Aspen Expeditions, a White River National Forest Service permittee since 1976, has a unique relationship with the Aspen Skiing Company that allows AE to access the backcountry from near the summits of the ski areas. Depending on your level of skiing we will guide you down an out-of-bounds ski run accessed from any of the 4 ski resorts surrounding Aspen & Snowmass. Ski into the untracked wilderness with us! |

ItineraryLift accessed backcountry skiing day - Meet your AMGA ski guide at Aspen Expeditions at 8:30 am. After being outfitted appropriately, you and your ski party will head off to the appropriate ski area for lift access to the wilderness beyond the boundaries for an untracked powder ski or riding descent. Includes numerous breaks for avalanche rescue training and lunch. Bring your Alpine Touring or Telemark skis and a small backcountry day pack. If you don't have any, you can rent state-of-the-art Black Diamond powder skis & Scarpa AT boots. Aspen Expeditions will provide you with avalanche rescue equipment.
