Annapurna Trekking Peaks
Pisang Peak, Chulu Far East & the Annapurna Circuit

Overview

This truly is one of the world’s classic walks. Your reward for taking on this endeavor? Views of three of the world’s highest peaks - Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu. To make this amazing trek even more so, we are adding on side trips to climb two of the area’s 6,000 meter trekking peaks. Pisang Peak and Chulu Far East are accessed off the main Annapurna Circuit and their summits offer grand views of the Annapurna Himal. Our trail follows the Marshyangdi River all the way to its source, the glacial lake in Manang. Through rural farm villages and terraced farm fields we march and make our way from the sub-tropic climate to the arctic landscape.

The southern slopes of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges are heavily settled and farmed. The higher regions support thick forests of rhododendron and fir. Most of the tribal inhabitants are Gurungs, Magars, Chhetris and Newars. Further north live the Manang people of Tibetan origin. Above yak country, we make the steep ascent up to and over the highest point of the trip - the Thorung La Pass, which rewards us with amazing views of the surrounding landscapes and magnificent peaks. We make our descent back to Pokhara via the holy site of Muktinath, one of the sources of the Kali Gandaki River. Through the world’s deepest gorge the Kali Gandaki River Valley, past the charming villages of Jomsom, Marpha and Tatopani (hot spring), we end our trek back where it all began in Pokhara.
